Doha, Qatar – In a brief but significant meeting, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli met with Tanzanian Vice President Philip M Pangyo at Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar, on Saturday. The encounter took place while both leaders were traveling to Seville, Spain, to attend the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development, scheduled to run from June 30 to July 3.

According to the Prime Minister’s secretariat, the two leaders discussed bilateral relations and various aspects of cooperation between Nepal and Tanzania. The meeting highlighted the growing diplomatic ties between the two nations and paved the way for potential future collaborations.

Prime Minister Oli is leading a 21-member delegation to the global summit in Spain, which aims to mobilize sustainable finance for development, particularly for least developed countries. As the chair of the Global Coordination Bureau of the Least Developed Countries, PM Oli is expected to address the summit and hold separate meetings with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez and King Felipe VI.

The conference in Spain is a significant event, bringing together world leaders to discuss and explore ways to secure financing for development and promote sustainable growth. PM Oli’s participation in the summit is seen as an opportunity for Nepal to showcase its commitment to sustainable development and to seek support from the international community.

The Nepalese delegation is scheduled to return to Nepal on July 4, after a series of high-level meetings and discussions in Spain. The meeting between PM Oli and the Tanzanian Vice President has set a positive tone for the conference, and it is expected that the discussions will lead to strengthened cooperation between Nepal and Tanzania in the future.

The Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development is a crucial platform for countries like Nepal to raise their voices and seek support for their development agendas. With PM Oli’s active participation, Nepal is likely to gain significant attention and support from the international community, which will help the country achieve its development goals.
