Abuja, Nigeria – Approximately 1,000 entrepreneurs gathered in Abuja yesterday for a dynamic networking event focused on overcoming business challenges and building lasting wealth. The event, known as The Convergence Africa, was spearheaded by Patience Oluwatosin Olusuyi, Chief Executive of CEOs’ Portal, and provided a crucial platform for entrepreneurs to connect, share experiences, and forge strategic partnerships.

The gathering emphasized the importance of networking and knowledge sharing as key components of successful business growth. Participants engaged in insightful discussions and collaborative sessions, exploring innovative solutions to the hurdles faced by businesses in today’s environment.

Patience Oluwatosin Olusuyi, a legal practitioner and the driving force behind the event, highlighted the purpose behind The Convergence Africa: “This event was organized to help entrepreneurs build partnerships that would be of mutual value.”

In her address, titled “Stop Networking, Start Building Network,” Olusuyi urged attendees to adopt a strategic approach to networking, emphasizing the importance of envisioning the desired outcome from the very beginning of any business connection. She underscored the critical need for entrepreneurs to move beyond superficial connections and cultivate meaningful, long-term partnerships.

Olusuyi also addressed the alarming rate of small business closures, citing that many businesses fail within just 18 months due to structural deficiencies, inadequate planning, and a lack of robust support systems. “People pour their resources and passion into an idea, but without proper structure or strategy, it dies off quickly,” she stated.

She passionately called on entrepreneurs to abandon the “lone wolf” approach and actively seek trustworthy partners to contribute to the development of sustainable and thriving businesses. The message resonated deeply with the attendees, who expressed gratitude for the opportunity to learn, connect, and build relationships that could potentially transform their business trajectories.

The Convergence Africa event served as a powerful reminder of the vital role that collaboration and strategic partnerships play in fostering entrepreneurial success and driving economic growth. Participants left equipped with new insights, valuable connections, and a renewed commitment to building businesses that stand the test of time.
