London, UK – Liverpool’s talismanic forward, Mohamed Salah, has been nominated for the prestigious Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Men’s Player of the Year award, solidifying his place as a frontrunner for the coveted prize. The Egyptian King enjoyed a stellar season, playing a pivotal role in Liverpool’s Premier League title victory last season, racking up an impressive 29 goals and 18 assists.

Salah’s brilliance has already been recognized this year, having secured the Football Writers’ Association (FWA) Footballer of the Year award with a landslide victory, garnering almost 90 percent of the votes, the largest winning margin witnessed this century. He enters the PFA awards as the clear favorite to add another trophy to his cabinet.

Joining Salah on the shortlist are a collection of Premier League stars, showcasing the breadth of talent within the league. His Liverpool teammate, Alexis Mac Allister, earns a well-deserved nomination, alongside Arsenal’s midfield maestro Declan Rice, Chelsea’s dynamic Cole Palmer, Newcastle’s in-form striker Alexander Isak, and Manchester United’s ever-present Bruno Fernandes.

While the nomination list is filled with deserving candidates, the inclusion of Cole Palmer has raised some eyebrows. Despite demonstrating flashes of brilliance, some consider his inclusion a surprise given Chelsea’s overall struggles throughout the season. However, Palmer has already been recognized for his individual accomplishments, clinching the PFA Young Player of the Year award for the 2023-24 season.

Declan Rice enjoyed a phenomenal season for Arsenal, starring in midfield and contributing with a career-high nine goals alongside 10 assists across all competitions (52 appearances).

The PFA Player of the Year award recognizes the outstanding contribution of a player to their team throughout the season. The winner will be chosen by a vote amongst fellow professional footballers, adding significant weight and prestige to the accolade. Football fans eagerly await the announcement to see if Salah can add another trophy to his impressive collection.
