Rabat, Morocco – Two of Morocco’s leading banks, Attijariwafa Bank and Banque Centrale Populaire, have earned a place on Forbes’ prestigious Global 2000 list for 2025, showcasing their significant contributions to the global economy. The annual ranking, now in its 23rd edition, recognizes the world’s largest and most successful companies based on a comprehensive assessment of sales, profits, assets, and market value.

Attijariwafa Bank secured the 979th position globally. The bank boasts an impressive estimated sales figure of $4.84 billion, profits of $956 million, and total assets totaling $71.7 billion. Its market value is currently estimated at $14.44 billion.

Banque Centrale Populaire also made a strong showing, ranking 1812th worldwide. The bank reported sales of $3.3 billion, profits of $416.9 million, and assets amounting to $53.52 billion. Its market value is estimated at $5.87 billion.

Forbes noted that this year’s Global 2000 list reflects record highs across all four key indicators – sales, profits, assets, and market value – despite ongoing geopolitical uncertainty and trade tensions. The combined revenue generated by the 2000 companies on the list amounts to a staggering $52.9 trillion, with profits of $4.9 trillion, assets of $242.2 trillion, and a combined market value of $91.3 trillion.

The top of the list continues to be dominated by tech giants and international powerhouses. Amazon and Microsoft maintain their strong presence, alongside entities such as Saudi Aramco and the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China. Notably, Nvidia continued its impressive upward trajectory, climbing to the 47th position this year, reflecting the company’s growing influence in the global tech landscape.

The inclusion of Attijariwafa Bank and Banque Centrale Populaire in the Forbes Global 2000 list underscores the growing strength and stability of the Moroccan banking sector and its increasing importance on the world stage. This recognition serves as a testament to their performance and contribution to the economic development of Morocco and the broader region.
