Tel Aviv, Israel –– Raden Hassan, a 47-year-old Palestinian resident of Qusra, near Shechem (Nablus), has been swiftly indicted on charges of threatening the life of Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and Head of the Samaria Council Yossi Dagan, as well as incitement and support for terrorism.

The indictment stems from a comment allegedly posted by Hassan on a social media post featuring Dagan alongside Minister Smotrich. According to the charges, Dagan had posted a photo of himself with Smotrich online, and Hassan allegedly commented, “Your end is near,” which authorities interpreted as a direct threat to their lives.

The swift action taken by authorities suggests the seriousness with which they are treating the alleged threats.

Further investigation of Hassan’s social media accounts reportedly revealed additional posts expressing support for and inciting terrorism. As a result, the indictment also includes charges related to incitement and support for terrorism, expanding the scope of the accusations against him.

The case is expected to draw significant attention, highlighting the ongoing tensions and security concerns in the region. The investigation and prosecution will likely be closely monitored by both Israeli and Palestinian communities.
