Los Angeles, CA – Black Entertainment Television (BET) is pulling out all the stops for its 25th annual BET Awards ceremony on June 9, 2025, announcing that four legendary Black performers will be honored with the prestigious Ultimate Icon Award. Singer-songwriter Mariah Carey, rapper Snoop Dogg, actor Jamie Foxx, and gospel singer Kirk Franklin are set to receive the special recognition for their groundbreaking artistry, community impact, and unwavering advocacy.

Since its inception in 2001, the BET Awards have been dedicated to celebrating the excellence and achievements of Black performers across music, acting, songwriting, and the arts. This year, as the awards reach a significant milestone, BET aims to amplify its mission by recognizing individuals who have not only dominated their respective fields but have also used their platforms to uplift and inspire.

The honorees have consistently used their influence to champion important causes, becoming role models for generations of aspiring artists and activists.

Meanwhile, the 2025 BET Awards nominations are led by rapper and singer Kendrick Lamar, hinting at a night filled with both honoring the past and celebrating the future of Black entertainment.

Adding to the excitement, comedian and actor Kevin Hart will be hosting the star-studded event.
